These are free things to do in Baltimore all the time.

The Baltimore Museum of Art is one of our favorite free things to do in Baltimore. The museum features many different exhibits that range from traditional art to international art and even contemporary art. Along with the permanent exhibits the museum features all the time, they also have some temporary exhibits. Be sure to check the museum schedule before visiting to find out what temporary exhibits are being featured.

The Walters Art Museum gives you a chance to explore both contemporary and traditional types of art. You can learn more about the art work and the people behind it. While you’re at the museum, you can also get a chance to learn more about the history of art in Baltimore and how it had an impact on the city.

The Fudgery has free tours and free samples you can enjoy! You can learn all about how the fudge is made and watch the employees sing and dance while they make it. They might also have some special events going on at the location seasonally. At the end of the fascinating tour, you’ll get a chance to try a free sample of their world famous fudge. Sweet!

The School 33 Art Center is a different kind of art gallery! It’s a place where you can see work from artists who are just getting their start. The galleries are constantly changing and feature work you’re not likely to see anywhere else. While the art center is totally free to visit, donations are accepted (not encouraged). The art center may have different hours depending on the season so it’s important to check ahead of time to make sure the gallery is open!

Edgar Allen Poe’s Grave is a popular spot for literature buffs and other tourists alike! You can visit the grave and walk around for free. There are even some special events around the area including free tea times. In some rare instances, the site closes for special events or because of the weather so make sure you check ahead of time before you make plans to visit!

The Baltimore Basilica is a church that’s more like a museum. You don’t have to be a member of the church to attend a service or simply walk in and take in all the beautiful sights of stained glass windows and more. It is important to note, though, that the church is still a functioning church so you might want to plan your visit around service times.

The Orioles Legends and Statue Garden is located just outside the ballpark and lets you check out some of the most iconic players in statue form for free! This is one of the best free things to do in Baltimore if you love baseball but don’t want to shell out the money for a big game. There might also be free events throughout the year at the statue garden that are free to attend.

The American Visionary Art Museum features free exhibits on the outside and paid exhibits on the inside. Even though you do have to pay to get into the museum, there is plenty to see on the outside. There, you can learn about the history of the exhibits and all the things they mean. It’s filled with contemporary art and gives you a chance to check out things that you might not typically see at an art museum.

Is this Baltimore’s most unique free activity?

Get Free Books at the Book Thing when you visit. This is one of the coolest “stores” in all of Baltimore and the only one that doesn’t require you to pay or trade for the books. Instead, you can just give old books a new life! While you can donate books to it for other people to read, you really don’t have to. You’re free to take the books you plan to read!

Check out free things to do in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor!

The Inner Harbor is so much more than just a place for boats to park in Baltimore. There are so many free things to do in Baltimore and the Inner Harbor area! You can check out free concerts and shows throughout the year and enjoy shopping and restaurants all around. If you or your child is interested in ships and boats, this is one thing you don’t want to miss! You can see large ships, small ships and everything in between. There might even be times when you can go onto one of the ships and take a tour. One of the most popular things to do in the Inner Harbor is the “Chessie” Paddle Boats and Pirate Ships you can paddle out into the harbor with, although these do cost a small fee.

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is where the “Star Spangled Banner” was written and is one of the most iconic spots in the whole city! This is one of the easiest spots you can add to your Baltimore visit because of its close proximity to Inner Harbor and all the other cool things in the city!

The Historic Ships are beautiful on both the outside and the inside. You can check out the outside of the ships and even get up close and personal to them right in the harbor. It does cost money to go into the ships, but there might be special events throughout the year that offer free admission. Either way, just being close to these massive ships is a great experience!

Get into these museums for free with an EBT card!

The Baltimore Museum of Industry offers free admission through the Museums for All program. You will need to have your EBT card to show at the museum to get in for free. The museum might also accept Museums for All cards if you have one. With this program, you and your immediate family members will be free to check out the regular features of the museum. The free admission might not work for special events.

The American Visionary Art Museum always features free admission to their outside exhibits, but checking out the inside of the museum can be pricey. If you have an EBT card, you can show that at the museum for free inside admission. This is one of the most unusual free things to do in Baltimore because of the unique exhibits inside. The admission is only good for the regular museum and not special events.

Check out these free things on special days!

Artscape is the biggest free arts festival in the whole nation. It happens each year in July and you can get in and walk around without ever having to pay anything. To get in, you’ll be required to show your EBT card or your Museums for All card if you have one.

The Jewish Museum of Maryland usually requires you to pay admission to get into. With an EBT card through the Museums for All program, you can get into the museum for just $1.
