If you’re facing a criminal case, you will be better off using the public defender’s office to find representation.

You might be able to find answers to legal questions at the Emory School of Law legal clinics. These clinics could make it easier for you to find answers to questions that you have about your civil legal case. The program might also make it easier for you to connect with an attorney. Since the legal clinic can fill up fast, it’s important to register early.

Counties might offer additional Georgia legal aid services.

There are some regions that offer services specifically to people in those regions. If you need Georgia legal aid services, your county or area might be able to help you.

Clayton County

The Legal Aid program in Clayton County could provide help if you have a civil legal case and you meet their requirements. If you qualify for help, they could provide you with an attorney who does pro bono work. These attorneys are able to answers questions and might even be able to represent you in court if necessary. Attorneys work on a volunteer basis and have the ability to refuse cases for any reason.

Dekalb County

They have income, residency and case requirements. The program has attorneys who work on for free, but they might not be able to help with certain cases depending on the specifics of the case.

Fulton County (Atlanta)

Legal aid in Atlanta might also be able to provide you with answers to brief questions or even resources you can use to self-help yourself on your case.

The Volunteer Lawyers program in Atlanta provides legal services to people who cannot afford an attorney and meet their requirements. The program might require you to meet income requirements and other requirements to get help through it. Volunteer lawyers provide their services free of charge. If they’re unable to help you by representing you in court, they might still be able to provide some help with answers to legal questions.

LAMBDA legal services in Atlanta could help if you’re struggling with a civil rights case and you cannot afford an attorney. Not only do they offer programs that could help you find an attorney who can represent you but they might also be able to provide assistance to you in other ways depending on the type of civil legal case you have.

Gwinnett County

Pro bono help is available in Gwinnett County! You might be able to find an attorney through the pro bono program that provides Georgia legal aid services. If you meet their qualifications for income and other requirements, you might be able to get an attorney who can represent you for free. The program could make it easier for you to find an attorney who can answer questions as well as represent you in a court setting!

The Georgia bar association could have resources.

The Georgia Bar Association provides a directory of attorneys throughout the state. They have attorneys who are willing to do pro bono work clearly marked to make it easier for you to find the representation you need. If you are in need of help, the Georgia Bar cannot provide direct help. Instead, they can help you find an attorney who might be able to provide that to you!
