Got TANF? If your family receives Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) funds, you’ll receive an additional $30 per child subsidy payment in August. These funds are designed to help offset the cost of school supplies and back-to-school clothes

FREE School Supplies in League City, TX!

Baby Stewart Foundation provides backpacks, school supplies, entertainment and food to Galveston County families at an annual Back to School Bash event. The supplies are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and families are only allowed to go through the line once.

Interfaith Caring Ministries provides school supplies, Christmas assistance, food and rent/utility payments to those in the Clear Creek Independent School District.

M.I. Lewis Social Service Center provides free school supplies, food, emergency financial assistance and holiday help for families who reside within the Dickinson ISD boundaries.

Operation Backpack is a service of YMCA of Greater Houston. The YMCA gathers backpacks and school supplies for distribution throughout the Houston area. I have reached out to them for details about how you can receive these items and will update this with more information when I receive a reply. In the meantime, feel free to contact your local YMCA for details!

Operation Homefront provides school supplies, clothes, holiday meals, baby items, financial assistance and more to qualifying military members and post-9/11 veterans.

Salvation Army of Galveston County can provide some school supplies to families in need.

Leap of Faith Ministries provides a Clothing for Texans program. This program provides clothing to anyone in need within Waller, Matagorda, Harris, Galveston or Fort Bend counties. Service is available in English or Spanish.

Salvation Army of Galveston County can provide clothing, utility/rent payments and other assistance to low income families in the Galveston County area.
