The Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) is an incredible offer for anyone with a Kalamazoo Public Library card! With this pass, you can receive free or discounted prices at over 440 participating locations! Preserve old movies, make podcasts, use a 3D printer, and more at Kalamazoo Public Library’s “The Hub!”

The KPL offers residents of the Kalamazoo Public Library area free access to a variety of digital media-making software through a digital lab known as The Hub. Ever wanted to make a podcast or rerecord an old vinyl? Now you can! The Hub includes well-known services such as Adobe Cloud, Audacity, Photoshop, and more. The Hub at Kalamazoo Public Library even has a 3D printer for use!

While the service is free to residents of the area alone, anyone can use The Hub. Not a resident of the area? No problem! You can purchase a Hub Card for ten dollars. To purchase a Hub Card, see the central library circulation desk on the first floor. To read more about The Hub, click here.

You can also freely self-publish your books with Kalamazoo Public Library’s SELF-e platform. SELF-e is an online journal for indie books that focuses on creating local communities of writers. Publish through SELF-e to share your book with other residents of the Kalamazoo Public Library, as well as other Michigan libraries.

Download Kalamazoo Public Library’s eBooks directly to your phone with a free OverDrive app.

OverDrive is a free app that connects to your library’s digital connection of eBooks and audiobooks. Through OverDrive, you can borrow an eBook from KPL without ever going into the library! To learn more or to download OverDrive, click here.

Use a free Personal Listening System!

Don’t have a place to charge your phone? The Kalamazoo central library offers free and secure charging stations on the second floor. These stations are secure lockers, so your device is completely safe while it charges!

Can’t travel to the Kalamazoo Public Library? Request Outreach services!

The KPL hosts free outreach services for residents that can’t make it to the library. Outreach services maintain several large print and audio books for those with special needs. This outreach service includes receiving books, dvds, and cds in the mail! There’s even a free return envelope included to eliminate the price of postage.
