12 Yarmouth Library Card Secrets

Did you know your Yarmouth Library card enables you for free online streaming and discounted museum passes? Read on to find out what your Yarmouth library card can do.

Get free and discounted museum passes at either Yarmouth Library location!

This offer is available to all residents with a Cape Libraries Automated Material Sharing (CLAMS) library card! Each family can have up to two passes reserved at one time.  Grab a reservation up to two weeks in advance by calling the South Yarmouth Library at (508) 760-4820 or the West Yarmouth Library at (508) 775-5206.

You can also reserve a pass online by clicking here!  Passes should be picked up by noon on the day of use, and there’s a daily $5 late fee for each day the pass isn’t returned. Finishing your day late? No worries! Passes can be left in the Book Return Box outside of the library.

The following is a list of museums that offer either discounts or free passes. Note that the discount is subject to vary, so it’s recommended to contact your local library to confirm any prices.

BIOMES Marine Biology Center: $2 discount each

This educational biology centers hosts a wide range of animals: everything from pufferfish to squid can be found here. Learn about exotic marine biology with interactive programs!

Boston Children’s Museum: 50% off admission for up to four visitors per pass.

The Boston Children’s Museum is one of the greatest pioneers in childhood development. Known for its focus on childhood growth, Boston Children’s Museum is home to countless programs and exhibits that promote health, wellness, and science. Boston Museum of Fine Arts: $10 per person; limit two per pass.

Enjoy exotic artwork from around the world, watch classic films, relax to musical performances, and more!

Got an EBT card? Visit the Boston Museum of Fine Arts for just $3 per person! 

Boston Museum of Science: $10 per person; limit four per pass.

Explore the cosmos in the Charles Hayden Planetarium! Experience 4-D Films, relax at the butterfly garden, take a ride on a simulated roller coaster, and more!

The Boston Museum of Science is FREE if you have an EBT card! 

Cahoon Museum of American Art: Free! Limit two per pass.

Cape Cod Children’s Museum: 50% off admission; limit four per day.

Cape Cod Children’s Museum boasts interactive exhibits for children and family as well as a constant assortment of programs running throughout the year! For a calendar of upcoming programs, click here.

Cape Cod Museum of Art: Free!

There’s always another up-and-coming art exhibition at Cape Cod Museum! The museum boasts a great variety of artwork throughout its exhibitions around the year. There are also art classes held periodically throughout the year, though these classes can become quite expensive.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History: $2 discount; limit four per pass.

Check out interactive nature exhibits, view ancient natural artifacts, take peaceful walks through trails, or relax in a butterfly house – these are just a few things to do.

Heritage Museum and Gardens: 50% off admission for up to two adults and four youth (ages 3-11) per visit.

Note: this pass doesn’t include access to the Adventure Park or special events.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum: $5 for adult admission; limit four per pass. Children under age 18 are always free.

Take a tour through the Gardner to get a feel for the history of the place! Beautifully adorned, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum will take your breath away. Stop in for a bite at Café G, a lovely restaurant in the gardens. Feel free to take photos or  draw sketches while you browse the art!

Plimoth Plantation: $12 for admission; limit four per pass.

Plimoth Plantation plays host to a wide variety of events such as farmers markets and art festivals! Check out the Mayflower II, a full-scale reproduction of the ship that crossed the ocean! Experience life as it was hundreds of years ago through open craft stalls and exhibits! Roger Williams Park Zoo: $3 discount; limit four per pass.

Take a trip through the zoo! Overload on panda cuteness and learn what a Binturong (spoiler alert: it’s a bearcat!). Roger Williams Zoo often hosts events, such as halloween parties, yoga with elephants, and seal-feedings. To see what events are coming up, click here. Check out Carousel Village, a popular tourist destination less than a mile away, for pony rides and carousel rides.

Whydah Pirate Museum: $12 for admission; limit four per pass.

Experience the golden age of piracy at a museum that houses authentic pirate treasure! In 1717, the Whydah Gally sank and its treasures were lost for hundreds of years. But no longer! Take part in interactive exhibits and learn what a pirate’s life was really like!
