The Nebraska LIEAP benefit might help those who qualify with up to $200 in a payment toward their Northwestern Energy account each month. The program is for low-income individuals only and may vary depending on your income and the need you have for assistance.
You might qualify for additional energy help when you’re looking for assistance through Nebraska. The additional energy assistance may help you pay for energy costs and could even provide you with a voucher you can use to pay your account. Many times, people use this benefit to get caught up on a large past due bill.
The Nebraska Energy assistance program not only helps you understand your energy usage and how you can reduce it but it also provides you with a way to get assistance paying your bill. The program works for people who need help, but you may only be able to get assistance once per year for this program.
Help is available for South Dakota Customers.
If you qualify for the South Dakota LIEAP, you could get help paying your bill each month. The program works to apply a credit to your Northwestern Energy account and allows you to save money. You must apply through a community action agency and provide proof of residency and need.
If you’re unable to receive LIEAP or you do not qualify for other assistance programs, you might be able to get help through ECIP. The program works to provide those who are unable to qualify for other programs get assistance on their bill by taking a portion of it off. The program does not provide year-round help.
Northwestern Energy offers helpful payment options.
Northwestern Energy might be able to provide you with payment arrangements or extensions. You must contact the company to make sure you’re eligible and you must provide them with information on when you are going to pay the bill. They look at each situation individually.
The budget billing program could help you save money on your bill during times when you use a lot of energy. With the budget billing program, you pay about the same amount from month to month whether you use more or less energy. Then, at the end of the year, you must make up for any amount you used above what you paid for.
If you’re in Montana, you could get a discount of up to 25% during the winter and 15% during other seasons of the year. You must apply for the program through Northwestern Energy. While you do not have to be on LIEAP to get this discount, it might help you get qualified for the discount.
