Want to see the best cultural attractions Colorado has to offer? The Jefferson County Library has purchased a large number of memberships at local museums and attractions. In order to take advantage of these memberships, you need to reserve a Culture Pass from the library. Members are eligible to check out two passes per month. The pass is good for free or discounted admission for a varying number of visitors.

Statewide

The Colorado State Parks Pass is good for free admission for one vehicle to any Colorado State Park. The pass includes a backpack stuffed with maps, guides, and binoculars. Passes can be picked up on a Thursday and must be returned by the following Tuesday. The library will charge a $5 per day late fee if the pass is not returned on time.

Denver

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has served as Denver’s home for natural history since 1900. The museum has a large number of permanent exhibits displaying everything from mummies to wildlife dioramas. With a Culture Pass, you can get free admission for up to seven people. The pass also offers a discount at the Museum shops.

The Denver Trolley is a historic open-air trolley operated by the Denver Tramway Heritage Society. You can take a step back in time before the advent of interstates and enjoy a ride on a “breezer” trolley. You can get free admission for two people with a culture pass. The trolley operates Thursday through Monday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver has five distinct galleries devoted to contemporary art. Located in the LoDo area of Denver, the museum has both permanent and rotating exhibits. A Culture Pass from the Jefferson County Library gets you admission for two adults as well as two children.

The History Colorado Center offers a look into Colorado’s diverse and exciting past. The museum celebrates history through a modern, high-tech experience. The pass also gets you access to the historical Byers-Evans House. You can get admission for up to four people with a Culture Pass.

Westminster

The Butterfly Pavilion has an incredible amount of butterflies you can enjoy first-hand. But did you know it also offers spiders, scorpions, centipedes and even sea stars? The Pavilion is a great place for children to learn about everything that crawls, flies, or slithers. With your Culture Pass, you get free admission for two people.

Axis 360 is a digital media service available with a Jefferson County Library membership. It offers tons of both audio books and e-books that can be accessed from anywhere.

Hoopla is one of the largest digital media services available. It has a large collection of different types of media. Hoopla also offers easy-to-use apps for Apple and Android phones. But please note: Hoopla is only available to residents of Jefferson County.

International Wildlife is an online, digital edition of the Marshall Cavendish International Wildlife Encyclopedia. Most notably, it is an in-depth resource on every animal species imaginable.

The entire World Book collection is online and available for Jefferson County Library members. Also, the set includes World Book Advanced, World Book Kids, and much more.

Flipster allows you to download your favorite magazines to your computer or phone. The app is compatible with both Apple and Android devices.

Kanopy Streaming is a fantastic digital media service. In fact, it hosts over 26,000 films. These works include independent, international, classic, and documentary films. But please note that this service is only available to Jefferson County residents.
