The Montgomery County Library offers more than just books! If you’re local, you need to know about all the incredible freebies you can get with your library card.

The Montgomery County Library system has a family play space.

The Mitchell Branch hosts a Family Place Library with toys and family-friendly activities. There is a play kitchen, dinosaurs and other toys available. This space is designed to help families relax and engage in educational play together.

The MCMLS includes the Central Library, Genealogy Room, Malcolm Purvis Library, RB Tullis Branch, RF Meador Branch, South Regional Library and Stewart-West Branch. The system also includes several Little Free Libraries, which aren’t in buildings.

You don’t have to leave home to enjoy the features offered by your Montgomery County Library card! You can use your library credentials to log in to many exclusive online systems.

Install these apps on your device and just log in with your library card! You can read e-books on Libby (also known as Overdrive), browse magazines on Flipster and learn a new language with Transparent!

Your library card also gives you access to movies and TV from Hoopla, too! You can watch on your mobile device or use the app on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku!

They have services for kids, too. Tumblebooks is an awesome service with narrated books for children and young adults. Very young readers may enjoy BookFlix, too!

Track down some treasure at your local library!

Did you know that there are at least one geocaches hidden in or near each branch? Geocaches are small containers filled with treasure. You have to search for it and when you find it, you take something as long as you also leave something behind. It’s a fun adventure! Can you find all seven MCMLS geocaches?

Discover your new favorites with BookButler.

BookButler is a service that helps you find your next favorite book. In order to use this service, you will need to fill out this form with your contact information, reading level and preferences. An experienced library staff member will select books based on your preferences. You just might find your new favorite!

Disabled patrons can have books delivered.

If you are living in an assisted living facility or nursing home, you may be able to get books delivered to you through the Montgomery County Library outreach program.
