We found options for people who are low-income and people who have a legal case they need help with. If you have a criminal case, legal aid usually won’t work. You’ll need to find help through a public defender.

The Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation might be able to provide you with help if you have a civil case that qualifies. You will need to meet the program guidelines and qualify with your income. This program helps people who do not have any other choices. Volunteer attorneys generally only provide help with answers to questions, but they might be able to represent some cases. The program could also help direct you to other services.
If you are looking for an attorney who can do work pro bono, you might be able to find one through Mass Legal Help. The organization works with attorneys who provide their services for free. They might be able to offer you a variety of different solutions. These solutions also include an attorney who can represent you in court. There are some other options available like mediation services and free consultation. The program is for low-income people who qualify.

Perhaps one of the most well-known law schools in the country, Harvard Law has a lot to offer people of the community. The school offers legal clinics and pro bono assistance for people who are low-income. If you need help with legal issues, this could be a great place to start. Students at this school can provide you with valuable information related to your case including advice on how to handle the case. The school may also be able to connect you with student attorneys who do pro bono work.
The University of Mass Law school has a legal clinic you can attend if you are low-income and need help. The students might be able to provide you with guidance. They could also provide you with solutions to civil legal issues you have.
The Boston College Law School might be able to provide some Mass legal help for people who are low-income and cannot afford an attorney. If you are in need of assistance and you reserve a spot, you might be able to learn more about your legal case and what you can do to solve it. The program does not cost anything, but does require participants to register ahead of time.
You could get help through your Massachusetts county!
Some counties might be able to offer Mass legal help. If you are looking for Mass law advice or someone to represent you, be sure to check with your county. More options could be available.
Western Massachusetts Legal Services provides help to people who are in the Western part of the state. If you need assistance with your legal case, questions answered about it or a consultation, you might be able to get it through this program. Attorneys volunteer their time and might be able to help you with different options that you’re unable to afford on your own.
MetroWest Legal Services could help if you’re in Framingham. The program is for people who are low-income and meet other guidelines. They have access to attorneys who work for free as well as resources that might be able to help if they’re unable to assist you directly.
The Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau combines student lawyers with bar-certified attorneys. This organization can help you find legal assistance and might be able to help you with resources even if you’re unable to pay for them. They have attorneys who do pro bono work and also have law students who can help with consultations about Mass legal help.
The Cambridge Community Legal Services and Counseling Center could provide information on Mass law and how it relates to your civil legal issue. The Mass legal help is available for people in the community who might need a lawyer or who might just have questions about their legal situation. The Boston Volunteer Lawyers Project is a group made up of attorneys that give back to the community. These attorneys provide their services free of charge to people who are low-income. They are able to help people who meet their requirements and they can help through consultation and representation. The organization might not be able to help with every case and does have requirements you’ll have to meet to get help.
The Boston International Institute might be able to help if you’re in Boston and in need of legal aid, but unable to afford it. They are experts on Mass law and could help with different programs depending on your case. You might also be able to get legal advice without representation through the organization.
If you’re in Jamaica Plain, you might be able to get help through the Wilmerhale Legal Services Center. This center provides Mass legal help to people who cannot afford it and need an attorney. They have a listing of lawyers who work pro bono and who work with organizations throughout the state. The list may not be exhaustive, but it can be a great place to start.
