Allegheny County

If you’re in Pittsburgh and you need help with your home, you could get it through the Pittsburgh Home Rehabilitation program. The program requires you to meet certain qualifications, but it could help you make your home safer and easier to live in. You’ll need to apply for the program through the organization.

Help might also be available for the rest of Allegheny County! You could get assistance with home upgrades to make your home safer. Through the economic development assistance program, the county works to help make the area better for residents and people who want to move to the city.

Berks County

Berks County residents might be able to get help with PA home improvement grants and assistance for home upgrades. You’ll need to be low-income and meet other requirements. The county might only be able to help during times when funding is available.

Reading offers HOME and the community development program grant for those who qualify. These programs could help residents who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford safe decent housing. The programs are not always available and can vary in the way they offer assistance to people. Even if you meet all requirements, there are no guarantees that you can get help with either of the programs!

Blair County

Blair County has PA home improvement grants available through the County of Blair’s Rehabilitation Program. The average amount of their assistance grant is $60,000 per home! The money is given as a forgiveable loan, which means that as long as you livein the home for five years you don’t have to pay anything back!

Beaver County

Beaver County offers up to $10,000 in grants or up to $15,000 in grant/loan combinations for residents who need help completing home repairs. The amount and type of assistance you receive will depend on how much your household income is.

Bucks County  

Bensalem offers community development that might be able to help you upgrade your home. If you want your home to be livable or in better shape than what it currently is, you could get help through the city. There are programs you can qualify for that might be able to help you upgrade your home.

The Bristol Township Community Development might be able to help you with PA home improvement grants. You’ll need to meet certain requirements to qualify for the program. Not everyone who has low-income qualifies and the organization might not provide help to everyone.

If you’re elsewhere in Bucks County and need help with home upgrades, you could get it through the housing services as part of their Human Services division. There are a variety of ways you could get help for the upgrades.

Cambria County

The Johnston Economic Development for Community Change could help you upgrade your home to make it safer to live in. They could help with PA home improvement grants if your home is unsafe or unlivable. You’ll need to meet their requirements to get help with your home.

Centre County

If you meet income guidelines and other requirements, you might be able to get PA home improvement grants through the State College home rehabilitation program. The assistance program can help with a variety of upgrades and might make it easier for you to get help making your home so much better.

Chester County

The Chester County Housing Rehabilitation program might be able to help you get housing repairs you need done. The program has a variety of requirements if you want to get help, but you might be able to get additional help depending on the repairs you need done and your finances.

Cumberland County

If you’re in need of PA home improvement grants and you’re in Carlisle, you could get them from the Carlisle Borough housing rehabilitation program. The program might be able to provide up to $17,500. These grants and loans could help you cover the cost of upgrading your home to make it safer to live in. They might also be able to help cover any costs associated with creating a better living environment in your home.

You could get help through the Cumberland County Housing Rehabilitation program. This program might be able to help you update your home to make it more livable.

Dauphin County

The Harrisburg Bureau of Building and Housing might be able to help you upgrade your home while also giving you a chance to make it more livable. You’ll need to meet requirements for the building and housing program.

Are you anywhere other than Harrisburg in Dauphin County? You might be able to get help through the HOME program. The program could help with grants or loans so you could upgrade your home to make it safer and more livable.

Delaware County

Haverford might offer assistance with home repairs, heater and roof replacement through PA home improvement grants. You’ll need to meet their income, residency and other requirements to qualify for help from the organization. Funding isn’t always available so you’ll need to keep that in mind.

The Delaware County CDBG rehabilitation program might be able to help residents with PA home improvement grants. You could get assistance with upgrades that might make your home more valuable or safer.

The Upper Darby township homeowner improvement code compliance program could help you save money on home improvements. The program is intended for improvements that could help your home become more in compliance with codes the township has.

Erie County

You could get help from the Erie Community Development program. They might have PA home improvement grants that could help you upgrade your home. If you meet their requirements, you might be able to get assistance with funding for a variety of minor upgrades.

Lackawanna County

If you’re in Scranton and you need help with home upgrades, you might be able to get them through the Scranton community development block grants. The grant could help you upgrade your home to give it a nicer appearance and a safer living space.

Lancaster County

The Lancaster neighborhood revitalization program might help you upgrade your home if it helps the neighborhood. You’ll need to meet their requirements for the repairs or upgrades. They might be able to provide help in the form of loans or grants for people who qualify for the grant program.

Lancaster County’s redevelopment program might help you upgrade your home if you’re in need of safety or even living space upgrades. You could get help with these upgrades through the organization to help make it easier for you to make your home a better place to live.

Lehigh County

The Allentown emergency solutions grants might be able to help you upgrade your home. If you’re in Allentown and need PA home improvement grants, you could get help!

Lehigh County might offer help for home repair assistance. You could get help upgrading your home or making it easier to make your house better and more livable. There are a variety of programs that might be able to help you save money on upgrades while also getting help with your home.

Luzerne County

If you’re in need of emergency home repair assistance, you might be able to get it through the Wilkes-Barre Emergency Solutions Grant. This is one of the PA home improvement grants that could help you make your home a safer place to live. You will need to meet their requirements to get help with the grant. Only some emergency repairs qualify for the grant and funding might not always be available.

The Luzerne County Community Development provides emergency home rehabilitation to people who qualify. You might need to meet requirements and provide proof of the repairs you need for your home.

Lycoming County

Are you in Williamsport and need to upgrade your home? You might be able to get help through the Williamsport Community Development program. The program might be able to save you money on loan costs and could even make your home a safer place to live!

Mercer County

The City of Sharon offers low interest loans to homeowners who need help repairing their roofs, septic systems or other critical repairs. You will need to contact the city for more information as each of these are separate programs.

Montgomery County

The Norristown planning program might be able to help you get assistance with your home repairs or rehabilitation. People who qualify for the program could qualify for up to $7,500 for each property they own. You might also be able to get assistance with upgrades to your home through low-interest loans.

If you’re in another town in Montgomery County, you might be able to get help with home repairs. You’ll need to apply for help through the housing and community development program.

Philadelphia County

Are you in Philadelphia? You might be able to get help upgrading your home! You can get assistance through their revitalization program. There are a variety of assistance programs available for people in Philadelphia and you could qualify for help through one of them.

Washington County

The Access to Easier Living program in Washington County might be able to help you upgrade your home while making it a safer place to live. The program works with people who are low-income and who qualify for help through the program. You might need to meet requirements from the county unrelated to income requirements.

Westmoreland County

The HOME program could help you upgrade your home so you can have a safer and better place to live. If you’re in dire need of home repairs, you might be able to use the HOME program to make these upgrades to your home.

York County

The York Bureau of Housing Services could help you with home upgrades. You might be able to get help with PA home improvement grants through the economic and community development area. There are different programs available and different income levels might qualify for different assistance programs.

If you’re in York County, you could get help with home improvements through the planning program and the home improvement program. You might need to meet residency and income requirements in addition to other requirements the program puts into place. The program might make it easier for you to make these upgrades to your home.

I’m disabled and currently have a mortgage on my home and need some assistance with repairs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you for everything!!
