Ohio is one of the few remaining states that does not charge admission for Ohio State Parks. You’re welcome to visit any of 74 Ohio State Parks and enjoy beaches, picnic areas, trails boating and fishing facilities completely free of charge.


However, there are other activities that could result in an additional charge and we’ve found ways to save on those charges!

Disabled veterans and POWs camp FREE at Ohio State Parks!

Former Prisoners of War (POWs) are exempt from camping fees. Honorably discharged veterans who have a permanent and total disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs can receive FREE camping in Ohio State Parks, too!

You must present proof of eligibility when registering.


Seniors can save up to 50% on camping fees and more!

The Ohio Department of Aging provides Golden Buckeye cards to all Ohio residents who are at least 60 years of age. Younger residents may qualify if they are permanently and totally disabled (and at least age 18).

With your Golden Buckeye card, you can save up to 50% on camping fees on weeknights (Sunday through Thursday). On Fridays and Saturdays, the camping fee discount is limited to 10% due to higher demand. You can also save 10% on the total rate for Rent-A-Camp, Rent-A-RV, Rent-A-Tepee, Rent-A-Yurt, Camper Cabins and Cedar Cabins. You’ll also get 10% off any cottage or lodge reservations.  All you have to do is show your Golden Buckeye card to get the discount!

Passport America holders also receive 50% off campgrounds!

Passport America is a membership program for frequent campers. The program provides discounts on campgrounds across the United States for just $44 or less per year.

Visitors with a Passport America card will receive 50% off regular camping fees on Sunday through Wednesday nights. This discount is limited to the campgrounds at Alum CreekBarkcamp,Blue RockBuck CreekCaesar CreekCowan LakeDelawareDillonEast ForkEast HarborGrand Lake St. MarysHarrison LakeHueston WoodsMaumee BayPaint CreekRocky Fork, and Stonelick.

On Sunday through Thursday nights, Passport America holders can receive 10% off regular cottage rates at Buck Creek, Cowan Lake and Dillon.

These discounts do not apply on any holidays.
