Get a Ohio State Parks Discount
Ohio is one of the few remaining states that does not charge admission for Ohio State Parks. You’re welcome to visit any of 74 Ohio State Parks and enjoy beaches, picnic areas, trails boating and fishing facilities completely free of charge.
However, there are other activities that could result in an additional charge and we’ve found ways to save on those charges!
Golden Buckeye Card
Ohio seniors and people with disabilities can get special savings at Ohio State Parks and other locations with a Golden Buckeye Card! This card provides special discounts to people who are at least 60 years old or who receive disability benefits.
In order to get a Golden Buckeye Card, you will need to sign up at a registration site. These include libraries, senior centers and more. Once you receive your card, you can order any needed replacements online without going in person.
You can get several Ohio State Park discounts with your Golden Buckeye Card, including:
- 50% off camping fees (Sunday through Thursday only)
- 10% off camping fees (Friday and Saturday)
- 10% discount off total rate for all rentals
In order to get this discount, the cardholder must be present and show the card at the check-in. They must stay at the site as well.
Active & Retired Military Discount
If you are currently serving in or retired from the military, you can enjoy a 10% discount on all overnight facilities offered at Ohio State Parks. This is available to every servicemember, regardless of whether or not they are from Ohio.
The only restriction is that you can only use this discount on one site at a time. You cannot book multiple sites simultaneously.
Disabled Veteran & POW Discounts
Disabled veterans and former POWs may be able to get an Ohio State Parks discount as well! This program provides free camping for eligible veterans.
In order to be eligible for this program, you must meet one of these requirements:
- You must have a permanent and total disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs; OR
- You must be a former Prisoner of War
You will need to prove your eligibility with a VA letter or a specialized license plate.
Unfortunately, this discount can only be used for one campsite at a time and you have to book the reservation through the call center. This Ohio State Park discount cannot be used online yet.
Hunting, Fishing & Trapping Discount
You may receive a 10% discount off your lodge or cabin room if you have an Ohio fishing, hunting or trapping license. You can book your reservation online using the Ohio State Park discount code LICENSE but you will need to present the license at check-in as well.
There are some restrictions to this discount. Blackout dates and other restrictions may apply.
Wildlife Legacy Stamp Discount
If you have an Ohio Wildlife Legacy stamp, you can get a 25% discount on lodge rooms and cabins at Ohio State Parks. You must present the stamp at check-in but you can book online using the Ohio State Park discount code LEGACY when you make your online reservation.
If you don’t already have a Wildlife Legacy Stamp, you can purchase one for $15 from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
