Borrow a FREE Mobile HotSpot from the Volusia County Library!
Wish you could get wireless internet on the go for free? The Volusia County Library can help with that! The Library circulation desk offers a number of Mobile HotSpots as well as Launchpads available to be checked out. The only requirement is that you are a library member in good standing.
Mobile HotSpots connect to your smartphone. Once the HotSpot is plugged in and working, it acts as a mobile WiFi transmitter that other devices can connect to. It’s important to note that you will have to use the data on your mobile device to operate the HotSpot. You can check out these devices from the library for up to 14 days. The fine for an overdue device is $0.25 per day.

Hoopla Digital is one of the best-known library streaming services available. With your library card, you can instantly stream tons of media through Hoopla. The service offers movies, music, eBooks, Audiobooks, and more! With the Hoopla app, you can enjoy your favorite titles on your mobile device or even broadcast to your TV. Hoopla currently hosts hundreds of thousands of titles, and the collection is always growing.
Audiolibres Digitales en Espanol (ODILO)

Freading
Freading is a digital service dedicated exclusively to eBooks. The selection is excellent. It covers both fiction and non-fiction with plenty of reference material as well. With your library card, you can check out up to three titles per week. Each title can be kept for 14 days, and you can renew each title for an additional 14 days before it automatically returns to circulation. If a title is not available you can place a hold on it. Once it is available it will automatically be added to your account.
RBDigital
RBDigital is the media service formerly known as Zinio. While the service offers an array of media types, it is best known for its selection of digital magazines. RBDigital’s easy-to-use app allows you to download current or backlist magazine titles to enjoy anytime. The best part of this service is that there is no download limit or checkout time. Every title is available for as long as you want it. You can even set up weekly reminders to notify you when a new issue is released.
Kanopy
Kanopy is a unique streaming service that focuses on titles outside of the mainstream. The streaming service has over 30,000 documentaries and films. These include popular films from around the world as well as domestic documentaries and indie films.
Freegal
Freegal is the largest digital collection of music available to library members. It offers more than 15 million songs as well as over 40,000 music videos. These artists represent over 40,000 labels, including the entire Sony Music catalog. You don’t need to download any software to use Freegal other than a web browser.
