Walgreens Seniors Day gives eligible shoppers 20% off eligible regular-price merchandise. The in-store event generally happens on the first Tuesday of every month, and Walgreens also offers an online Seniors Day discount during the week aligned with the event.

Here’s how it works and what you need to know before you shop.

    Am I Eligible at 55?

Yes. Walgreens Seniors Day is available to myWalgreens members who are 55 or older.

Walgreens also says AARP members can participate in Seniors Day.

myWalgreens membership is free. If you’re shopping in a store, let the cashier know that you’re using the Seniors Day discount. Walgreens notes that proof of age may be required.

How Much Do I Save, and When?

The standard Seniors Day discount is 20% off eligible regular-price merchandise.

In stores, Seniors Day is held once a month on the first Tuesday of the month, although Walgreens says the date may change because of a holiday.

Because dates and promotional terms can change, check the official Walgreens Seniors Day page before making a special trip.

    What’s Excluded In Store?

The 20% in-store Seniors Day discount doesn’t apply to everything.

According to Walgreens’ current terms, exclusions include:

    • Prescriptions, pharmacy items, and pharmacy services
    • Alcohol
    • Dairy products
    • Tobacco
    • Stamps
    • Gift cards
    • Newspapers and magazines
    • Money orders and money transfers
    • Transportation passes
    • Lottery tickets
    • Charitable donations
    • Pseudoephedrine or ephedrine products
    • Clinic services
    • Sales tax
    • Items or services submitted to insurance for reimbursement
    • Other items restricted by law

The offer also can’t be combined with certain promotions, including Buy 1 Get 1 Free, Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off, or Buy 2 Get 3rd Free deals.

Bulk orders, back-ordered items, and out-of-stock items are also excluded.

Can I Use the Seniors Day Discount Online?

Yes. Walgreens also offers an online Seniors Day discount during the week aligned with Seniors Day.

For the September 2026 event, for example, Walgreens offered the online discount from August 30 through September 5 while the in-store Seniors Day was September 1.

To use the online offer, you’ll need to be logged into your Walgreens.com account and enter the promo code SENIOR20 at checkout.

Keep in mind that online restrictions are different from the in-store exclusions.

The current online terms exclude certain products and categories, including pharmacy purchases, photo orders, gift cards, taxes, shipping charges, electronics, at-home COVID test kits, certain medical nutrition products, and a number of specific brands and products.

The online code also can’t be combined with other promotional codes.

Since the exact dates and exclusions may change from one Seniors Day event to another, check Walgreens’ current Seniors Day terms before placing your order.

Is This Still Available Right Now?

Yes. Walgreens continues to advertise Seniors Day as a monthly promotion.

The company says shoppers age 55 and older can save 20% on eligible regular-price merchandise on the first Tuesday of each month, with an online discount available during the week aligned with Seniors Day.

However, Walgreens reserves the right to change or discontinue its offers, so it’s always a good idea to check the current promotion before shopping.

    Relief Recap
