Free Wisdom Teeth Removal (You Could Get Paid!)

Looking for free wisdom teeth removal? Insurance companies may cover part of wisdom teeth removal but it usually costs you out-of-pocket also. What if you could get paid to get your wisdom teeth removed? It is totally possible! We found some ways you can get it for free—and even some ways you can get paid for having them removed!

Wait—what are wisdom teeth again?

Wisdom teeth are the molars in the very back of your mouth. They can be on both sides, top and/or bottom. Wisdom teeth normally aren’t a problem in youth, but start to come in around ages 17 to 25. Then they can cause pain and tenderness in your gums, jaw pain, headaches, and/or swollen gums. Some lucky people don’t have any problems, or any wisdom teeth! But all in all, about 85% of people  have their wisdom teeth removed at some point.

Often insurance companies will only pay for about $1,000 a year in dental work. Basic wisdom teeth removal can cost up to $800! However, in some cases based on the location of the teeth, type of extraction, and type of dentist, it can cost upwards of $3,000 dollars to remove your wisdom teeth! Free wisdom teeth removal doesn’t sound so bad, does it? Here’s how to remove wisdom teeth on a budget.

Jean Brown Research allows any healthy person between 18 and 40 years old to participate. They include free medical care and pain medication. They provide free services (and sometimes pay patients) because they are a clinical research study. This means that they prepare medications to go to the general market. But don’t worry—the doctors are board certified oral surgeons and operate in a state of the art facility. If you aren’t sure if you need your wisdom teeth removed, they will give you a free x-ray to see if you need them removed. However, the one catch is you must be able to travel to their office. Not bad for free wisdom teeth removal!

Lotus Clinical Research has free wisdom teeth removal for research participants. You must be 18 to 40 and meet the study criteria, but you do not need to have any insurance. Best of all, you can also receive compensation for your time and travel, but the slots are limited. They are located in Pasadena, California.

Payment Plan

If the other options for paid, cheap, or free wisdom teeth removal won’t work for you, you can always reach out to your dentist and ask about a payment plan. You will still have to pay the balance after insurance, but you might be able to pay over a period of time so that it’s more affordable.
