You might be able to get free money that’s applied directly to your Jefferson Energy bill. Catholic Social Services of Augusta might be able to provide you with assistance for your utility bill payment. They have limited help available and might only be able to provide it at certain times throughout the year. The organization might also have limits on what they provide. You generally don’t need to be a member of the Catholic church to receive this help, but you may be subject to religious materials and information.

The Doughty Park Neighborhood Service Center might be able to help you with assistance for your bill. Even if they are unable to provide direct help to low-income people, they have resources they might be able to direct you to that can be helpful.

Other programs might also be able to help.

The Jenkins County Family Partnership might be able to offer help and resources if you’re unable to pay your electric bill. They have assistance that could help if you’re low-income and you meet other qualifications. You will need to provide the organization with information related to your income as well as your family size.

The First Baptist Church of Augusta might be able to provide some help to people who are in an emergency situation with their utilities. If you are facing shut-off or your electric has already been turned off, you might be able to get help through this church. They do not require you to be a member, but there are other requirements you’ll have to meet to get assistance.

Miracle Making Ministries might be able to help you with your utility bill payment. The organization is religious-based and provides some help to people who are struggling. They are not generally able to help everyone who asks for it, but they might be able to provide assistance if you’re in an emergency situation.

Operation Roundup is a Jefferson Energy program that might be able to help you get the funding you need for your electric bill. While the program does not provide direct help to people who are in need, they have access to resources that can help you find assistance for paying your bill.

Do you just need a little extra time to pay your Jefferson Energy bill? If that’s the case, you might be able to make a payment arrangement or get an extension with the company. By talking to the electric company, you might be able to find out if they offer arrangements and extensions. Not everyone will qualify.

Levelized billing is a program based on your past electric usage. If you have a history with the company and you meet certain other requirements, you might be able to average out the amount you pay month-to-month. With weatherization, you can get free insulation and other things that will help make your home easier to heat and cool. In some instances, you might even qualify for free energy efficient appliances! You will need to meet income and other state requirements to get help with weatherization.

If you have to purchase a new heat pump, you might be able to get a rebate through Jefferson Energy. The rebate can help make the heat pump more affordable and might make it easier for you to choose one. Check the site for rebate-approved models!

There are many free things, discounts and other benefits that come with this membership.

Your child could get a scholarship through the electric company! The company offers two main types of scholarships for students who meet requirements and are selected. The scholarships are for 4-year degree programs as well as for lineman school. This can be beneficial for both students who want to enter the energy industry and those who want to be a part of the electric company right away.

Students might also be able to win a free trip to D.C. Through the Youth Tour program, students who are selected from the competitive pool of applicants might be able to go on a tour of the nation’s capital. The trip is all expenses paid and can help students learn more about energy.

Did you know you make money just for being a co-op member? You are entitled to capital credits! Typically, Jefferson applies these credits to your bill automatically. If it’s been some time since you’ve received credits or you think you might have credits owed to you, you can contact the company.
