If you’re looking for real financial support built specifically for women, the National Fund for Women is worth a close look. It combines cash microgrants, everyday discounts, and something called the Zero Dollar Store, all wrapped into one membership community.
Do You Have to Pay to Join?
No, you don’t. The organization offers a free waitlist for sponsored memberships. You sign up for the waitlist, and they’ll let you know when a sponsored spot opens up for you.
It can take time, since sponsored memberships depend on other members funding them, but there’s no requirement to pay anything to eventually get in.
If you don’t want to wait, you can pay $15 a year (or $1.25 a month) for a Contributing Membership and get full access right away.
There’s also a $100-a-year Founding Membership tier that sponsors five additional women’s memberships, but that’s optional and not something you need in order to benefit yourself.
What Do Members Get?
Every paid or sponsored member gets the same core benefits:

How Do the Microgrants Work?
Once you’re a member, you can apply for cash microgrants in three tiers:
- Everyday Support: $100 to $500 for immediate financial relief
- Get Ahead Support: $500 to $2,500 for stabilization and momentum-building
- Build Something Bigger: $2,500 to $5,000 for entrepreneurial projects
In September 2026, that looks like a $250 grant for a Ladies Night Out, a $2,000 grant for Paid Leave, or a $5,000 grant to help you build a business. You can apply for up to three grants a month, but you can only be approved for one every two months.
Applications are reviewed on the 22nd of each month, and decisions come out on the last day of the month, with approved funds sent by digital transfer.

To qualify, you generally need to be:
- 18 or older
- a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- a member of National Fund for Women (free or paid)
Prioritiy is given to women but they say they’ll consider all eligible applicants whose needs align with their mission.
