It connects high-achieving high school seniors from low income households with full four-year scholarships at some of the most selective colleges in the country, and the application itself doesn’t cost a thing.

What Is the National College Match?
QuestBridge partners with 55 well-known colleges and universities to match talented students from low income backgrounds with early admission and a full ride. Instead of filling out a standard college application, students apply once through QuestBridge, which gives them room to explain their achievements in the context of what they’ve had to overcome financially.
If you’re matched with one of the partner schools, your scholarship covers the full four-year cost, which QuestBridge estimates is worth more than $360,000 depending on the school.
Even if you’re not matched, your application can roll into QuestBridge Regular Decision, so applying still opens doors even without a direct match.
Who Is a Good Fit?
QuestBridge is looking for great students from low income backgrounds. Ideal candidates check a few boxes at once:
- Your grades are near the top of your class, in the hardest courses your school offers
- You write well and show real curiosity about learning
- Your household meets the income requirements, which means that you bring in less than roughly $65,000 a year for a family of four, with very little in savings or assets
- You’ve shown grit and honesty in the way you’ve handled challenges

The National College Match deadline for this cycle is October 1, 2026. That’s the date your full application needs to be submitted, so don’t wait until the last minute given how much thought goes into telling your story well.
How to Apply
You’ll apply directly through QuestBridge’s online portal. Because the application asks you to write about your background and achievements in more depth than a typical college application, give yourself real time to work on it rather than rushing it together in the final days before the deadline.
