Get a FREE in-home energy audit!

Heartland REMC can send an energy advisor to your home to help you identify ways you can save money on your power bill! The advisor will use things like an infrared camera or blower door test to identify where you’re losing money. They can help you identify ways you can improve your energy efficiency with simple fixes like weather stripping.

Save money on your next power bill with these tips!

Heartland REMC invites customers to submit their best recipe for a chance to win a $10 credit on their next electric bill! Each month’s winning recipe is published in the next month’s newsletter.

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides free home improvements that help you save money on your power bill! If you meet income requirements, you may be awarded a certain amount of money toward improvements like insulation, weatherstripping and more! The improvements are performed by a state-trained energy auditor who will visit your home and identify the improvements that are most needed.

Can’t wait for the weatherization tech? When you purchase through Energy Savers Coop, you’ll be able to save up to 50% on energy efficient products like LED lights and smart power strips!

Low income Heartland REMC customers may be eligible for Indiana LIHEAP and the state’s Weatherization Program! These two programs can go a long way toward reducing your power bills!

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps subsidize utilities for low income customers. The funds are available during the cold winter months and are paid directly to Heartland REMC.

During the summer months, the Energy Assistance Program may be able to provide limited funds for fan purchases.

Enroll in Budget Billing!

The seasonal fluctuations of a power bill can wreak havoc on a low income budget. Make your power bills more predictable by enrolling in Heartland REMC’s fixed payment plan.

With this plan, your monthly payment is calculated by dividing your annual usage into eleven equal payments. The twelfth month is the settlement month, where you will be required to pay the difference between your budget billing amount and your actual usage. If you used less than you paid for, you’ll receive a credit on your account!

You can request an enrollment in budget billing by clicking here and filling out the form.
