I’ve been updating this list for years now, and I’ve learned quite a bit along the way. There are some things that many people don’t know about Wisconsin FoodShare!

Amazon offers discounted Amazon Prime memberships for customers who receive EBT or Medicaid benefits! Amazon Prime includes FREE two-day shipping and FREE streaming access to thousands of titles. You’ll need to verify that you receive food stamps or Medicaid to get this incredible price.

Cell phones and service may be available FREE in your area! Choose a provider here.

Student loan payments could be as low as ZERO dollars per month with an income based repayment plan!

Summer food services offer free meals for children 18 and under during the summer months when free and low-cost school meals aren’t available.

Property tax exemptions are often available for low income seniors and disabled veterans! For more info on what it is and how to apply, contact your local county assessor’s office. We even received a refund for the last two years of property taxes!

Veterinary care assistance is available! If you have a pet, you need to know about these agencies that may be able to assist with your pet’s vet bills.

YMCA organizations often have discounts for low income families! Contact your local YMCA for details.

FoodShare

Get discounted admission with your Wisconsin FoodShare card!

For your convenience, we’ve organized our free and discounted museum admission list alphabetically by city. We’ve also used green titles to indicate museums that accept EBT cards from all 50 states!

It is important to remember that you cannot pay for admission with your Wisconsin FoodShare card. You will show the EBT card to receive the discount but you will need to pay the remaining admission price, if any, in cash or with a credit/debit card.

Appleton

Atlas Science Center – $3 or less per person

The Atlas Science Center promotes lifelong learning with interactive STEAM exhibits designed to appeal to students in grades 3-12. They also have live science presentations, a discovery hub and more.

Building for Kids Children’s Museum – $2 per person

The Building for Kids Children’s Museum offers Access Admission of just $2 per person through the Museums for All programs. Local families who are experiencing financial dififculty may be able to acquire an Access Family Membership, also.

History Museum at the Castle – $3 per person

The History Museum has year-round programs for everyone, including tours and in-class activities. It focuses on Fox Valley’s history and is in a historic building that was once a Masonic temple. The Museum also serves as a community event space.

Cameron

Pioneer Village Museum – $3 or less

The Pioneer Village Museum invites you to step back into history. Visit for $3 or less per person with your EBT card.

Eagle River

Northwoods Children’s Museum – $3 or less per person

Explore music, math, art, games, science, geography and reading at the Northwoods Children’s Museum! If you have an EBT card, you can visit this Museums for All partner for just $3 or less per person!

Eau Claire

Chippewa Valley Museum – $3 or less per person

The Chippewa Valley Museum has collected thousands of artifacts and objects that illustrate the history of Wisconsin’s unique Chippewa Valley. They also have three historic structures, the Anderson Log Home, Sunnyview School and Schlegelmilch House.

Children’s Museum of Eau Claire – $20 per family per year!

CMEC offers a discounted membership for qualifying families. The annual pass grants unlimited access to all exhibits, programs and special activities for up to two adults and all their children under age 18! Additional adults can be added for just $10 each. Members also receive discounts on birthday party packages, special event tickets and shop purchases.

To qualify, families must present valid ID, a complete application and one of the following:

  • Dated EBT eligibility letter
  • Military ID
  • WIC card or dated folder
  • Free or Reduced school lunch letter

Ellison Bay

Door County Maritime Museum: Death’s Door Maritime Museum – $2 per person

Death’s Door Museum showcases the area’s commercial fishing tradition. Guests can explore the 45 foot wooden fishing boat inside and out. They also showcase a shipwreck, a scuba diving exhibit, artifacts from the bottom of Lake Michigan and more.  Up to four people can enter for just $2 each, with your EBT card.

Ephraim

Ephraim Historical Foundation – FREE

The Ephraim Historical Foundation preserves 5 museums to share the history, culture and beauty of Ephraim.  Self-guided tours to all 5 museums are free.

Fond du Lac

Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac – $3 or less per person

As a Museums for All member, this children’s museum charges $3 or less per person for families with EBT cards.

In addition, they also offer an Every Child, Every Family scholarship to those who cannot afford regular admission. To receive scholarship dollars, you will need to fill out an application explaining your financial need.

La Crosse

Children’s Museum of La Crosse – $4 per person PER YEAR

Families who participate in public financial assistance programs (such as WIC or EBT) qualify for a discounted membership to Children’s Museum of La Crosse. For just $4 per member PER YEAR, you’ll receive unlimited admission for one year, a 10% gift shop discount, $2 off discount for guests, a discount on parties and events and more!

To qualify, you must meet the income limit. You may prove your income status by either submitting your most recent tax forms or providing evidence that you participate in a low income program (such as FoodShare, WIC, Head Start, etc). Also, you will need to complete this application.

Madison

Madison Children’s Museum – $1 per person or $15 per year

A generous Access for Everyone program is available from the Madison Children’s Museum. This program provides free family night during the first open Wednesday of each month. They also invite low income families to visit the museum for $1 per person (or $10 per year for subsidized memberships). To qualify, you must participate in one of the following low income programs:

  • Foodshare/Quest/EBT
  • Free/reduced school lunch
  • Medicaid
  • WIC
  • WHEAP
  • SSI/SSDI
  • Section 8
  • Unemployment
  • Head Start
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters
  • YWCA
  • Foster Care

Manitowoc

Manitowoc County Historical Society – $1 per person or $20/year

At this living history museum, you can feel the heat of the blacksmith’s forge, take a lesson in a one-room schoolhouse and more. The 60 acre interpretive site includes a Welcome Center and Pinecrest Historical Village.

Mark Family Access when you fill out and return this form, for your year long membership.

Wisconsin Maritime Museum – $8 or less per person

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum offers a discount for guests with EBT, BadgerCare, FoodShare/Quest, Medicaid or WIC cards. You can visit for $8 per person with your EBT card.

Milwaukee

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum – $2 per person

Up to four people per group can enjoy an EBT discount at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum! The ticket purchases can be made online but you will have to provide proof of eligibility when you arrive at the museum.

Charles Allis Art Museum – FREE

The Charles Allis Art Museum showcases the Allis family art collection and more. The showcases i kept inside the historical home of the Allis family.

Milwaukee Art Museum – $20 per YEAR

The Milwaukee Art Museum offers a Family Access Membership to anyone who participates in Wisconsin FoodShare, BadgerCare, Medicaid or WIC. These memberships are the same as a Family Membership, which usually costs $85!  Learn more about this discount and how to get it on the Milwaukee Art Museum website!

Milwaukee Public Museum – $3 per person

Originally chartered in 1882, the Milwaukee Public Museum has been inspiring curiosity, and exciting minds for close to 140 years!

According to their website, you can, “Take a small step back in time to the turn-of-the-century Streets of Old Milwaukee, European Village, and to ancient Mediterranean civilizations. Or, take a giant leap back more than 65 million years to The Third Planet and see one of the largest dinosaur skulls ever found. Stroll amid free-flying butterflies from around the world in the Puelicher Butterfly Wing.”

Platteville

The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums – up to $3 per person

The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums showcase the region’s rich mining history. The museum offers exhibits, guided mine tours, train rides and more. It is not clear what is included with the EBT discount.

Sheboygan

Above & Beyond Children’s Museum – $10 per year

Above & Beyond Children’s Museum offers a Family Access Membership for just $10 per year!  This membership starts at $10 for one year, but families are encouraged to pay what they are able. Family Access Members are afforded all of the same benefits as Family Members, including free admission for one year for two parents and all of their children, priority registration for special events and admission to members-only events.

Stevens Point

Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum – $1 per person

Discounted admission to CWCM features many different exhibits and programs, including the Create-It! Art Room, Happy Teeth Dental Clinic, Good to Grow Grocery and more! View all their offerings by clicking here.

The CWCM offers a 6 month membership for just $20.  This membership includes unlimited access to the Museum and drop-in programs for up to 2 adults and all children in the home.  Families must register at the museum and have their Foodshare card and photo I.D. present to sign up for this membership.

Sturgeon Bay

Door County Maritime Museums: Sturgeon Bay – $2 per person

The museum discusses the area’s rich maritime tradition and tells the story of fishermen, craftsmen, inventors and lighthouse keepers.  Up to four people can enter for just $2 each, with your EBT card.

Sun Prairie

Explore Children’s Museum of Sun Prairie – $3 or less per person

Ideally suited for children up to age 9, the Explore Children’s Museum of Sun Prairie offers discounted admission for people with EBT cards. They also have an All Access program that can provide free or low-cost memberships to those facing financial hardships.

Wausau

Wausau Children’s Museum – $1 per child

Children up to age 12 will enjoy the daily sensory activities, play spaces, creative projects and more.  Located in the Wausau mall, this museum offers admission for just $1 per child through the Museums for All program, when you show your FoodShare card!  Adults and caregivers are free.

Does anyone know if noah's ark waterpark accepts EBT cards for food and non alcoholic drinks?
