Are you a WPL customer who just can’t seem to pay their bill? Wisconsin Power and Light customers could get access to free money toward their bill and save money on their bills in the future!

Since WPL is a subsidiary of Alliant, you can get the benefits that come from being an Alliant customer. Got a bill that comes from Alliant? If you’re a customer in Wisconsin, you’ve got Wisconsin Power and Light. If you’re in Iowa, check this information out!

Wisconsin Power and Light customer? Save money on your WPL bill!

WPL offers their Hometown Care Energy Fund for people who are low-income and need assistance paying their bill. You must apply for the program through Wisconsin Power and Light. The program has income guidelines you must meet if you want to get help. You can get up to $200 toward a single bill. Families may only qualify for the program once per calendar year.

The WHEAP benefit might help you save money on your bill throughout the year. The program is for Wisconsin residents who are low-income and struggle to pay their utility bills. You can apply for the program through your local assistance office. If you have Internet access, you can also apply for the program through the assistance website.

Visit the Salvation Army to see if you qualify for utility bill assistance. You’ll need to bring a copy of your utility bill and identification. You might be required to fill paperwork out to receive assistance so prepare to answer some questions about your income and your family size. The Salvation Army puts a once per year, per family limit on the help you can receive.

Avoid shut-off using these resources.

The Keep Wisconsin Warm (or Cool) Fund can help low-income residents struggling to pay a bill. If you’ve received a shut-off notice, you can contact the agency to determine whether you qualify for help. You must be at risk of losing your heating or cooling source. The program has guidelines you must meet. You must be below certain income levels to qualify for help through the agency.

Just a little short on your bill? If you have an old fridge or freezer, you might be able to get money for it through Wisconsin Power and Light. The WPL recycling program helps you recycle old appliances. Working refrigerators and freezers may be worth up to $50 each. You may be able to have this amount applied directly to your bill.

Get help with Alliant payment options.

Need extra time paying your bill? Wisconsin Power and Light offers payment arrangements for some customers. You must apply on the phone or in person to qualify for a payment arrangement. Do not send an email or try to get a payment arrangement through your online account. There are other requirements you must meet.

Since you’re an Alliant customer, you may be able to get help with budget billing. The program helps you by creating a bill based on the average bill you had in the past year. You will not have to worry about very high bills during the winter or summer months. You may also be able to get help with anything you go above the average by allowing it to roll into the next year.

Changing your rate plan could make a huge difference in the amount you pay. The Nights and Weekends plan from WPL could help you save money on your bills if you use most of your energy at night or on the weekend. You can reduce your rate by as much as half. As long as you don’t use a lot of energy during peak times, this plan can be hugely beneficial.

Upgrade your home and save money on your WPL bill.

Wisconsin’s weatherization program might be able to help you upgrade your home while also lowering your energy bills. Weatherization is for low-income residents who might not have access to energy efficiency in a home they own or rent. Wisconsin Power and Light customers can get free upgrades to their home through the program.

WPL offers a rebate program. If you have to purchase a new appliance or even if you have to purchase new light bulbs, you might qualify for Alliant rebates. These rebates can be as little as a couple of dollars up to hundreds of dollars. If you were planning on spending the money anyway, it’s like getting free money!
