Get Free Food with Double Dollars & More!

You can double your food benefits in Wisconsin with programs like Double Dollars! These food incentive programs can help you get more food for your food benefits.

In this article, we’ll discuss what these programs are, who is eligible, and how you can get started.

Double Dollars

The Double Dollars program provides up to $20 worth of free food per day when you shop with your FoodShare benefits at a participating market! This is an incredible opportunity to double the value of your food benefits.

Who is eligible for Double Dollars?

Literally anyone who has a SNAP EBT card can participate in Double Dollars. It doesn’t even matter if your card is from out-of-state!

That means if you’re eligible for Double Dollars, you’re also eligible for these EBT discounts too!

How does it work?

When you visit the farmers market, you’ll need to go to the information booth to get started. They’ll ask how much money you want to spend. You’ll swipe your card and they’ll give you that amount in Market Dollars. They’ll also give you a set of Double Dollars for the same amount.

You can spend the Market Dollars on any SNAP-eligible items at the market.

You can only use Double Dollars to purchase:

  • Breads and cereals
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Meats, fish and poultry
  • Dairy products
  • Plants and seeds that grow food

If you decide that you don’t want to spend all the money you withdrew from the card, that’s okay. You can take the Market Dollars back to the information tent to have them refund your card. However, you have to return one Double Dollar for every Market Dollar you decide to refund back to your card.
