The Hammond Homebound program might be able to help you through their down payment assistance efforts. If you’re a first time home buyer, you can get help with a grant to cover your down payment. Residents of the city get up to $2,500 if they qualify. First responders and education professionals can get up to $3,500 toward their home purchase. Vigo County
