Low Income Relief has helped countless people get help in Hawaii!

Throughout the government shutdown, LIR informed me when my food stamps would be available to me. Being a single mother, that helps a lot. It also gave me the info about how to get help with my power that kept it on through the bad winter months.

LIR has been a true blessing to my family. They helped us when we had no one else to help. I had lost my job, I was pregnant, and my husband was also out of work at the time. They guided me in the right direction so I could keep food on the table and a roof over our heads.

How does Low Income Relief help in Hawaii?

Hawaii is often overlooked when it comes to US poverty programs. This beautiful island state is something that most low income Americans can only dream of and on the mainland, living in Hawaii is seen as a status symbol. It’s hard for many Americans to imagine Hawaiians in poverty.

However, there are over 128,000 people living in poverty in Hawaii. This especially affects families, since 12% of children in Hawaii live in families with incomes below the poverty line. Affordable housing is an especially big challenge for low income families, since Hawaii’s housing market ranks 48th out of 50 for affordability.

For years, Low Income Relief has helped low income people across Hawaii connect with resources, benefits and programs around the state that can help alleviate the strain of poverty. We’ve discovered that too many people just don’t know what’s out there to help them.

That’s why we’re here. We created this information service to help low income people connect with resources, benefits and programs that can help lift them out of poverty. After all, the programs are out there. They just aren’t always easy to find.

Over the years, we have helped millions of people save money, get free stuff and make ends meet.

In this directory, you’ll find everything we’ve found that is unique to the state of Hawaii. For more assistance that is available nationwide, be sure to check this link as well. If you have any questions, you can chat with Lira now or leave a comment anywhere on our website for more information.
