Save money on your Indiana electric bill! The electric bill can be a budget-buster when you’re surviving on a low income. Fortunately, your power company can usually help. There are several unknown or little-advertised programs that power companies may offer that can help lower the cost of your power bill.

Most power companies offer a budget billing plan, which averages the annual cost of electricity in a home and bills the customer in 12 even installments. Almost all states offer FREE weatherization assistance and financial aid to low income homeowners and renters!

American Electric Power

American Electric Power offers a lot of resources for their customers who are low-income. You can avoid exorbitant fees, get level payment options and find help for your energy bill. We also found resources to help you pay your bill and get caught up on past-due bills. You might even be able to get help with shut-off notices and other issues. Citizens Energy

If you’re a Citizens Energy customer, you could get help with your bills! We found ways for you to get help with payment arrangements, extensions and even budget billing to make paying your bill easier during the winter months. Duke Energy

Save money on your Duke Energy bills, get help paying them and even make the burden easier on yourself during the cold Indiana winters. There are programs available to help you with all of this. Heartland REMC

You could get help with your Heartland REMC bill! Since you’re part of a cooperative, you can get help with your bills and get the savings you need. You could also get assistance with weatherization, free home upgrades and rebates. Indiana Michigan

Need help paying your Indiana Michigan bill? We found it. You might be able to get help through the Dollar Energy fund, through the utility company and through community organizations. Indianapolis Power and Light

Do you struggle to pay your Indianapolis Power and Light bill? We found options for you! The company offers a variety of discounts and savings for low-income customers. You could also find what you need using community options for your power bill. If you want help upgrading your house and making your IPL bill lower, you can get it through the state. Just Energy

Are you a Just Energy customer? This energy supplier might be able to help you get discounts, access to free upgrades and so much more. Lebanon Utilities

If your Lebanon Utilities bill is too much, you might be able to get help with lowering it, making upgrades to your home and getting access to free things to make your bill easier to pay. You could get help through CAGI, the Step Ahead Council and or even Lebanon Utilities. The company might also offer payment arrangements and extension to customers who qualify. The DependaBill, BudgetPlan and Price Protection Service are all options from NIPSCO that could help you save money on your bill. South Central REMC

You can get help paying your South Central REMC bill! You can get help making your bills leveled with the budget billing plan, assistance with payment arrangements and even benefits since you’re a co-op member! Vectren

If you struggle with paying your Vectren bill, we found help for you! There are ways you can get help including the EAP and the USP.
