RI EBT Admission Discounts
For your convenience, we’ve organized our free and discounted museum admission list alphabetically by city. Museums with green titles are Museums for All participants, which accept EBT cards from all 50 states.
Your Rhode Island EBT card can be used at any Museums for All partner in any other state! Check out our lists for nearby Connecticut, Massachusetts and the rest of the United States.
It is important to realize that you cannot pay for admission with your EBT card. You will show the EBT card to receive the discount but you will need to pay the remaining admission price, if any, in cash or with a credit/debit card.
Bristol
Blithewold – $3 or less per person
Blithewold is a 33 acre estate with incredible views of the bay. The property also features a 45-room mansion filled with period pieces and family heirlooms. Step into New England’s history at Blithewold estate!
Coggeshall Farm Museum – $3 per person
The Coggeshall Farm Museum spans 48 acres of coastal farmland and recreates the daily experiences of tenant farmers on the marsh in the 18th century.
Newport
Newport Art Museum – FREE
Since 1912, Newport Art Museum has positioned itself as a cultural gathering place for anyone with an interest in art. In addition to a permanent collection and rotating exhibits, the Newport Art Museum also offers concerts, live theater, art and book talks, family workshops and more throughout the year. Show your RI EBT card, to receive free admission for you and three other people.
Newport Mansions (Preservation Society of Newport County) – $2 per person
Up to four people can visit the Newport Mansions for $2 per person with a single WIC or EBT card! The discount is not valid for specialty tours or events.
Save the Bay Hamilton Family Aquarium – FREE
The new aquarium in downtown Newport provides free admission to up to four guests per EBT card. This destination is also sensory-inclusive.
The Sailing Museum – $3 or less per person
As a Museums for All member, The Sailing Museum welcomes low income families at a discount! This museum celebrates the experience of sailing, the mental and physical grit of sailors, the teamwork and competition aspects of sailing and the sailing legends in the Hall of Fame.
Pawtucket
Cape Verdean Museum – $3 or less per person
This museum celebrates the rich, complex and controversial history of the Cape Verde region. Guests with an EBT card can visit for $3 or less per person.
Providence
John Brown House Museum – FREE
Built in 1788, this house once belonged to well-known merchant, patriot, politician and slave trader John Brown. You can walk through the mansion and experience what it was like to live in the US at the end of the 18th century.

Lippitt House – FREE
Step into Providence’s Golden Age with this preserved Victorian house museum. The Lippitt House is a National Historic Landmark. They offer both guided and self-guided tours.
Providence Children’s Museum – $2 per person
EBT cardholders can play at Providence Children’s Museum for just $2 per person! You and 3 others can get admission at this great price, when you show your RI EBT card. Exhibits focus on learning through play, including water play, a children’s garden and a two story climbing maze.
RISD Museum – FREE
Established in 1977, RISD Museum, which is affiliated with the Rhode Island School of Design, currently holds a collection of more than 100,000 works of art dating back to ancient times.

Woonsocket
Museum of Work & Culture – FREE
The Museum of Work & Culture includes nine immersive exhibits, audio and film presentations and hands-on activities. It’s free for up to four people per EBT card!
Statewide
Historic New England – $2 per person
Historic New England operates 4 historic locations across Rhode Island. These locations are all participating in Museums for All and charge $2 per person, for up to four people per EBT card.

Library Card Discounts
We’ve found some incredible discounts you can score with an Ocean State Libraries card! You can get free museum passes, discounted museum passes and even checkout devices like video recorders and Roku devices for free!
Statewide RI EBT Discounts
If you’ve got RI EBT, then you may be eligible for other discounts on shopping, utilities and more! Here are some other programs you’ll want to check out:
- Amazon offers steep discounts on Amazon Prime membership for low income customers! You’ll need to verify that you receive food stamps or Medicaid. Sign up here.
- Double Your EBT when you shop at certain retailers. Here’s a list of providers that will give you extra food when you shop with EBT.
- Free Cell Phones & Service are available through the Lifeline program if you qualify for RI EBT. Pick your provider now.
- Internet Discounts are often available for EBT users as well. Choose a discounted plan.
- Utility Discounts may be available from LIHEAP, the Weatherization Assistance Program and other means-tested programs.
- Student Loan Assistance may be available. If you qualify for RI EBT, you probably also qualify for an income-based repayment program that can drop your payments to as little as ZERO dollars per month!
- Pet Care Grants may be able to help you with emergency veterinary care, basic pet wellness, and even pet food. Here’s a list.
- YMCA Discounts are usually available for low income individuals and families. If you qualify for RI EBT, you may be eligible!
Things to Know about RI EBT
I’ve been updating this list for years now, and I’ve learned quite a bit along the way. There are some things that many people don’t know about Rhode Island food stamps!
- You can buy fruit trees. Many people think you can only buy food with your EBT card, but that’s not technically true. Your food stamps card can do much more than buy groceries! You can also buy seeds, produce-bearing plants, some birthday cakes and even certain gift baskets!
- You can shop at many places. You can use your RI EBT funds in some unexpected places. In addition to most grocery stores and gas stations, you can use your card at Costco, many farmer’s markets and even Schwan’s food delivery trucks! Shop at these stores.
- You can use your EBT card in other states! Not only can you shop in other states, you can also get EBT discounts in other states. All of our state lists use green titles to indicate what venues accept out-of-state EBT cards for discounts.
