First of all, Ohio state law states that “no… school district shall charge a fee to a pupil who is eligible for a free lunch under the “National School Lunch Act”… for any materials needed to enable the pupil to participate fully in a course of instruction.” This does not apply to extracurricular or tools for job readiness courses that are kept by the student after the class ends. This means that if your family qualifies for free student lunches, you do not have to purchase school supplies at all.

Nevertheless, if you are looking for free or cheap school supplies or back to school clothes in Gallipolis, OH, you’ve come to the right place! We are still waiting for replies from the school district and a local resource center, so hopefully we’ll be able to add to this list again soon.
