You can learn more about deferred payments. Not all customers will qualify, but this can be helpful if you have a large amount that is past due. The amount can be split up over several months and added to any current bill you may have due. The sooner you speak with the company about deferred payment, the more options you’ll have. Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas will all have different requirements.
Do you just need a few more days until your paycheck is deposited or you can come up with the funds? Entergy Corp may work with customers on a payment arrangement. Arkansas customers, Louisiana customers, Mississippi customers and Texas customers may qualify for a payment extension. Only those who are current on their bill will get the extension. Project Care and The Power to Care are the same programs offered by Entergy. Both of these programs allow customers to donate to a fund for low-income customers. The company administers the program so you can easily apply using most of the information Entergy already has from you. You will need to provide proof of income and proof of hardship if you are going to be able to be approved for the program. It is important you talk with Entergy about your needs as soon as you know you’ll need help. There is limited funding since it all comes from donations. There are different programs available for customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
The LIHEAP benefit is for those who are low income. The program allows you to have all or some of your electric bill taken care of. If you receive SNAP benefits, Medicaid or any type of cash assistance, you may already be qualified for LIHEAP. Talk with your local benefits office to learn more about LIHEAP in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi or Texas. You will need to do an application, but the benefits office may already have some of your information on file if you are receiving other benefits.
Upgrade Your Home and Save On Your Entergy Corp Bill
Entergy offers upgrade solutions to make your home more energy efficient. If you have consistently high bills or if you struggle to make sure you are saving energy, it may be your appliances or poor insulation in your home. Entergy in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas all have programs that will help you pay for upgrades. They may be able to get your free help for your ductwork, for your ceiling insulation and for making sure your home is prepared for weather extremes. While the company will not pay for new appliances or light bulbs upfront, they do have rebates available for customers who purchase energy saving appliances and light bulbs.
In addition to the LIHEAP benefits, you may qualify for weatherization. Both renters and homeowners can have weatherization done through a state grant. The average of each weatherization project updates around $7,000 worth of work in customers homes. The program can help you with new appliances, sealing a poorly insulated house and making upgrades to windows that could make your home more efficient. Arkansas
The Arkansas community action program may be able to help you with paying your power bill. The program can provide one-time help to those who are in need. They can also connect you with the right way to apply for LIHEAP or other benefits. The program has many other offerings including free budgeting classes to help you be better able to handle all the bills you have. You will need to make an appointment with the office. You’ll need to have proof of need and income, an ID and an Entergy bill or shut off notice.
Louisiana
If you need help paying your power bill, you may be able to get it from the Catholic Charities of North Louisiana. While they have other locations that also serve Entergy customers, this is used exclusively for those who are in Louisiana. The program does not require you to go to church at a Catholic church but may have other requirements.
The Salvation Army may help pay for some or all of your power bill. They have limited funds they can use to help you pay your Entergy bill one time per year. They will generally pay a set amount, which may not cover your entire bill, but it can help you get caught up.
Mississippi
The Clinton Community Christian Corporation may be able to provide you with valuable money to help pay your Entergy bill in Mississippi. The program is run by various churches and it is something people can also use to connect with other charities. You’ll need your Entergy bill and your income amount along with an ID to get help.
Mississippi Entergy customers may also be able to get help from Ministries BOM. The program can connect you with other organizations that may be able to help you with your bill. In addition, they have limited funds to help you if you have a shut-off notice or if you are in an emergency situation with your power bill. The program also has counseling solutions and they may be able to help you if you have needs in other areas.
With Mid State Opportunity, you will simply need to visit the office location to learn more about what they have to offer. In addition to job training and special programs, they will sometimes be able to help you with a power bill payment. They will generally not pay all of your Entergy bill. The organization might be able to work with state or other programs to help you pay the bill. They offer their energy payment services one time only.
Texas
The Texas Crisis Assistance Center can help Entergy customers in Texas with power bill resources. Through the organization, you can apply for benefits, you can learn about how to lower your energy bill and you can even get one-time help from the organization to make sure you don’t lose power. You’ll need to apply through the company, and to do that you’ll need to have your power bill. You will also need your ID.
The Greater Texas Community Action Program may have some funds to help you pay your bill. If they are unable to help with an electric bill, they have the resources to connect you with another agency in the area that will help with your Entergy bill. You may also be able to find other help at the GTCAP because they work as an agency to provide relief for all people who are struggling financially.
