    • Aquariums
    • Local events and festivatls
    • Youth sports programs
    • Summer camps
    • Recreation centers and gyms
    • …and so much more!

Search to Find Your State List Below

Search for your state using the search field below. Click the blue text link that appears to go to your state list.

Don’t forget to check out nearby states, too! This is especially important if you live near a state line. Museums for All destinations offer EBT discounts to people who have cards from any state, so you may be able to unlock even more freebies just across the state line!

EBT Discounts on Bills & Expenses

If you receive SNAP, TANF or other EBT benefits, then you may be eligible for discounts on essential services like phones and internet plans. These discounts really add up and they can help you save a lot of money on your monthly bills!

Phone discounts are available through the federal Lifeline program. This program technically provides a $9.25 subsidy on your telephone bill, but many providers offer completely free service if you qualify. Pick the best provider for you.

Internet discounts can drop your bill as low as $5 per month. Many ISPs like Comcast, AT&T and Verizon provide low income plans that are less than $25 per month. See the internet discounts here.

Utility discounts are often available for low income customers. Programs like LIHEAP can help and many utility companies have specific discounts and programs too. Check our full list.

YMCA discounts are often offered to low income individuals and families. Some YMCA locations offer free passes or sliding scale charges based on your income. Here’s the details.

School supplies may be covered for low income students as well. Many areas have rules about this, so it’s always worth asking at your school or district office. If they say no, we’ve also found charities that can help with school supplies.

College fees may also be avoidable if you are low income. You’ll need to reach out to your local college for details – or check out this list of colleges that don’t charge tuition for low income students!

Fines & fees may be waived or reduced for SNAP participants in some areas. San Francisco and other cities have started programs that can help reduce fines for those who meet certain income requirements. Ask your local councilmember or representative for details.

Free legal help is available from many legal organizations. This can help you save money on legal fees. Find a provider near you.

Medical bills may be covered by Medicaid. Many people on SNAP also qualify for Medicaid. You can apply with the government office that is in charge of SNAP.

    EBT Discounts for Transportation

Getting around when you’re broke can be a serious challenge. If you’re struggling to afford the soaring cost of, well, everything, you’re not alone. That’s why we’re so glad we found transportation discounts as well!

Bike share discounts are available from providers like Lyft, Lime and Spin in cities and urban areas. Find the one nearest you.

Public transportation often offers free bus passes or discounted tickets for people with low incomes or those who are eligible for SNAP.

Rideshares like Lyft may offer SNAP discounts as well. The Lyft Up initiative may provide access to job interviews, job training, grocery stores, etc. in some areas. These are local programs, so check the Lyft Up website for details.

Auto insurance discounts may be available in some states that have sponsored insurance plans. Details here.

    Food Discounts

If you’ve got EBT benefits, then you may be able to unlock exclusive discounts on food as well! This is a great way to stretch your food stamps dollars and get more food with your benefits.

Community Supported Agriculture programs often offer EBT discounts as well. This discount will depend on your local CSA provdier, but we have found some that offer half-off the regular priced boxes. Check with your local CSA provider for details.

Double your SNAP benefits when you use programs like Double Up Food Bucks, Market Match and others. These are some of the best EBT discounts out there because they essentially give you free food when you shop at participating retailers. Find a participating location near you.

You-Pick Farms often offer special pricing for EBT shoppers as well. You’ll need to contact your local you-pick farms for details.

More Ways to Save with EBT

Over the last 10 years of researching the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and other low income programs in depth, I’ve found all sorts of weird loopholes and rules. If you’re interested in EBT discounts, you may be interested in some of these other articles as well!

Because SNAP is a means-tested program, you may qualify for other free programs as well. For example, you may also be eligible for additional programs like free healthcare through Medicaid or free money toward your utilities through LIHEAP.

    Relief Recap

Low Income Relief has the most thorough and detailed list of EBT discounts anywhere on the web! Our expert team has been researching and adding to this list since 2015, when I first discovered a sign advertising an EBT discount at the Washington State History Museum. I had been visiting the museum with my family and I thought that was so cool. Even though we weren’t getting SNAP benefits, I went home and did some research. I found five other museums offering similar deals and wrote about it here on the website. We helped raise awareness for these programs, and since then hundreds and even thousands more destinations have started offering similar deals. We’re still updating the site to make sure we catch them all. Make sure to bookmark this page and check back often, because we update those state posts frequently with new discounts and deals!

In Chicago IL, you can go to galter life center woth your ebt card and take free food courses, workout courses, this includes the pool, gym, classes and discounts. Let me verify my frirnd on this to be sure its just link card and nothing else in place or on top of the ebt card.

      2. It’s maybe 8 years after you originally posted this (based on the comments’ time stamp) and I just want to say thank you so much for putting all of this together.

        1. You are so welcome! This is one of my favorite posts. Even though it’s been 8 years since I started working on it, I update it all the time. 🙂 I’m so glad you found it!

It may be worth contacting the program or school you are interested in. Usually, their financial aid office will know what is available.

      3. https://www.walmart.com/plus/assist Walmart+ now offers a similar discount to the Amazon one above, with it’s own streaming service.

Speaking of streaming services, never pass a library without seeing if you can get a card. Many library systems have streaming services, movies, music, even audiobooks, but may be restricted to a certain level of service per patron. Multiple library cards means multiple usages. And you can’t be penalized for not returning a book that returns itself!

        1. @Jon Doe, this is spot on. some states permit you to have multiple library cards across the state (found this out over the pandemic when I was forced to move). The best thing about this is when you go to put a hold for a book in Libby, it will put you in the shortest queue (and it is possible to search across all libraries you have cards for!)

this is by far the best way to listen to audiobooks (Audible is so expensive!)

I Want To Know If The Government Take Money From My EBT Is A Crime, Here In Puerto Rico Each Month My Account Is 6 (Six) Dollars Less, Please Find Out With The FBI TO INVESTIGATION, Let Know…!!!

        1. The Lion’s Lighthouse Foundation in Chamblee gave me a COMPREHENSIVE eye exam that was more thorough than any optometrist I’ve actually paid for. They offer a huge seection of lobby so many different styles of frames & lenses. After my exam was done, i chose my frames and lens options and my TOTAL was only $10.70 for everything! That’s the full exam, basic pair of bi-focal poly-carbonate lenses, fitting, consultation and my choice frames (still not broken after 27 months of full-time use).
I’ve been completely satisfied with the entire process from the first time my bf called them. They treated me with respect and took all the time i needed (even at the end of the day) to answer my questions. I only had to wait a couple weeks for their in-house lab to make the final product i could have paid $5 to have mailed to me, since i live abt 45 min away but i chose to have then fitted instead. My experience was impressive to say the very least. I dont know what goes into the approval, but I’m a SNAP recipient with no income, no SSI or SSDI, no dependents. My bf’s minimal income, was our only means. Also, if i had chosen progressive lenses, it would’ve been $60. I hope this helps lots of people!

          1. Wow—thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and encouraging experience! It’s amazing to hear how respectful and affordable the process was for you. Stories like this give others real hope.

        2. Also, I’d like to add that they’ll graciously receive donated eyeglasses with or without lenses, any frames even if broken, missing pieces, cracked lenses, lenses with or without frames, non-rx lenses, sunglasses, unused contact lenses, etc.
          https://lionslighthouse.org/services/

On another note, in 2013 I went thru a local Lion’s Club for help and they referred me to Lens Crafters, where i was given a complete package including the exam, outdated, cheap frames and single vision only lenses with no extras. They would’ve allow me to use a Rx id just gotten 3 months prior by an opthamologist, as they required me to use their service. After i got my printed rx from them, i noticed that the 2 rx were completely different.
They were also rude & disrespectful toward me, and provided poor service. My choice of frames were on a single panel board of about 50-75 pairs total of mens, womens, kids that were all discontinued or unwanted. My chosen pair broke in 1½ months when the fishing line that holds the bottom of the lens had loosened up. But LensCrafters would not honor the 30-day warranty that was invoice in the Lion’s Club package, nor fix or replace them, because they were out of warranty… which started on the day i ordered the glasses after my exam, not the day i received them. They told me I needed to pay full price for new frames and lenses since the new lenses were only made for the frames that I had broken. They told me i should have been more careful with them. I’ll never go back there!

      5. If your food was destroyed or became unsafe to eat because of lack of refrigeration you can ask for replacement EBT/SNAP benefits. If the loss is due to a power outage, the outage must have lasted for 4 hours or more. You may get up to the amount of one month’s EBT/SNAP benefits. 106 C.M.R. §364.900 (C).
        .
You need to report the loss of food to DHS within 10 days of when the food was destroyed or you threw it out. You can do this verbally or in writing. Within the next 10 days, you also need to sign a sworn statement about the destruction of the food purchased with EBT/SNAP.
        .
In the State of Michigan you need a letter filled out by your landlord of dates of power outages and times if possible and signed and dated by landlord and submit to your MI-DHS Caseworker in person.
Any questions please contact your DHS Caseworker.

      6. I live in Maryland and it doesnt have a list of places where you can buy seeds and plants that produce food. it just states where you cant go; like Lowes or Home depot. does anyone know?

      7. @Deborah, in WA there’s a process by which I was able to get $776 of car repairs done, but I think it was because I’m both employed and on TANF. (not just food stamps, I don’t think.)

        1. Catherine Marucci

Hi KJ. It may depend on if they view the card as a way of verifying low income or if they are restricting reduced-fee access to state residents.

      8. I want to say Thank You, for all the information. I had no idea about all the stuff you could get by using you EBT card. I am going to take my 7 yr old to pick strawberries and check out the museums.
        Thank you so much!!

        1. ACP was not funded last year. And trying to get any help through the Lifeline Program is absolutely impossible!
